Untold hours have been spent doing thorough genealogical research on my ancestors, some of whom I hope to write about through this platform. While that’s a skill in and of itself, it’s important to remember that good genealogical research does not necessarily make good stories. Rest assured, I have documented all of the information I’ve found in the appropriate places, but if that were the soul of this venture, you’d be reading a boring compilation of facts with no context. And let’s be honest, you’d probably stop reading.
What will follow are narratives — stories. They are meant to illustrate the whole of a particular person in a way that makes their story engaging and memorable, while still being rooted in genealogical facts within the context of their place in history.
If you’re interested in following my journey as I learn more about my ancestors and convert the information into stories, you can subscribe for free and please share with anyone you think might be interested! You can expect to receive no more than two eMails per week as I reveal the stories, serial style.
I’m nervous, but I hope you’re excited!
